Qimera 2.5.2 Release

We are pleased to present Qimera 2.5.2.

Highlights

• New Heave/Swell Removal tool. This tool will remove heave or swell type artifacts from your surface. This tool is part of the automatic height matching add-on, please contact sales@qps.nl for a demo.
• X-Point listings can now be viewed and manually moved in the TOP detection control dock.
• You can now define the lat/long format when exporting TOP detections to ASCII.
• The cable/pipe diameter has been added to the ascii export for TOP detection.
• Smoothing in the TOP detection tool will now allow a user specified range.
• You can now pick the default line color when importing line objects in the preferences. It will now automatically swap the line color if it is the same as the plot background color for white and black backgrounds/lines.
• You can now export to a Qinsy Sounding grid layer from Qimera.
• You can now apply edit flags to your source files from .fau files that were created by Qimera.
• Added an option to export/import your filter profiles.
• Added the ability to compute a delta when in the TOP profile analysis tool.
• Added a recompute colormap range entry under the dynamic surface menu to recompute the colormap range after editing soundings. This can be useful for spike hunting.
• Added an option to export multiple boundaries to ASCII XYZ for static surfaces and THU, TVU layers.

Bugs

• Processing / Source Files
  • Fixed an issue where TPU values were not updating after processing when position or height settings were changed in the processing settings editor.
  • Fixed GSF export for R2Sonic .r2sc files that were not exporting snippets due to a custom formatted .r2sc file.
  • Improved the robustness of the .kmall file import to handle issues with corrupt packets in the middle of the file.
  • Fixed dual head GSF export for kmall datagrams stored in QPS .db format.
  • Fixed an issue where Innovatum pipetrackers were missing positions.
  • Fixed an issue where the .fau tide plugin was removing the existing tide twice.
  • Fixed an issue with Seapath delayed heave having the wrong sign.
  • Fixed a crash after importing a QTM file.
• Tools and Editors
  
  • Improved the speed of the slice editor plot to make it more responsive.
  • Fixed an issue where the slice editor toolbar would become disabled when editing.
  • Adjusted the X-Point listing computation to use the bisect of the previous and next segment heading.
  • Fixed a crash when saving vessel configuration to disk and no time bubbles were detected.
  • Fixed a disappearing slice box when using the new triple-click rectangular selection in the patch test tool and wobble analysis tool.
  • Fixed a bug in the slice editor when holding the ctrl key and making a selection to invert the accept/reject logic.
  • Fixed a crash in the 3D slice editor when editing points.
  • Fixed an issue with rotated rectangular selections not displaying all the points when slice editing.
  • Slide editor will now warn you when loading more than 3 million points rather than silently failing to load the points.
  • Fixed a crash in the height matching tool.
  • The surface edit overview is now saved to disk.
  • The surface edit overview colormap is now updated immediately after adjustment.
  • Fixed an issue with curved routes in the cable/pipe TOP detection tool where the slice box was not following the curve.
  • Fixed an issue when selecting Show unselected files in the slice editor.
  • Fixed a crash when closing the patch test tool before it was fully loaded.
• Importing / Exporting
  
  • Fixed an issue with the BAG export where the TVU layer included the full surface area rather than a clipped area. This resulted in TVU values in cells that did not have depth values.
  • Fixed a crash when exporting to GSF and the raw sonar file had special characters in the name.
  • Fixed a BAG export crash.
• Other
  
  • The threshold for the Reject Outliers 1D filter can now be set lower than 0.1.
  • Fixed an issue where the 2D bounding box was hiding CAD labels.
  • Added the ability to zoom vertically in the profile dock when holding the ctrl key and using the mouse wheel.

Known Issues

• Importing Tide does not trigger processing prompt. To fix this, select your source files and select Tools > Manual Processing > Re-Nav XYZ

Voting System

In this release, we have completed 2 feedback items, which satisfies 9 votes. For more information, see our Voting system Policy  and Using the Voting System. 

The Feedback Project helps us to continue improving our software products. At the moment, our Voting System is down as described at the top of the Voting system Policy page. Despite the system being inaccessible for voting for a short period, we still use it to prioritize developments while we await a solution from our provider, Atlassian.
