Qimera 2.9.2 Release

We are pleased to present Qimera 2.9.2. In this release, we addressed multiple reported crashes and concentrated on enhancing overall system stability. Read below for details.

Bugs

  • Tools and Editors

    • Fixed an issue where the slice editor would no longer automatically pan the main scene view in 'auto track' mode to keep the current selection in focus while navigating.

    • Fixed an issue where the 3D Editor would no longer automatically pan the main scene view in 'auto track' mode to keep the current selection in focus while navigating.

    • Fixed a crash in the Vessel Editor when unticking the "Override SD" option for SBET motion systems in projects with multiple time bubbles.

  • Processing / Source Files

    • Fixed a critical issue where QPD files could be generated with infinite Z-range values, leading to crashes during dynamic grid creation and project corruption.

    • Resolved a crash occurring during raw sonar processing when dealing with files containing extreme navigation spikes.

    • Improved the Spline Filter's memory management to prevent crashes and system freezes when processing large datasets with high point densities.

    • Fixed a crash when enabling Phase and Magnitude filters during reprocessing, which previously resulted in project corruption.

    • Resolved a crash in the SVP Refraction filter when the "Filter Rejected" option was enabled.

    • Corrected the TPU calculation for Dynamic Grids to ensure TrueHeave RMS values are prioritized over real-time RMS values when available.

  • Geodetics / Navigation

    • Fixed an issue where SBET navigation files were not correctly transformed to the project datum (e.g., ETRS89 to WGS84) upon import.

    • The Geodetic configuration dialog no longer experiences a crash when the information tab is selected for a QGFVOM.

  • Importing / Exporting

    • Fixed an issue where Kongsberg dual-head data was missing pings from the second head during GSF export.

    • Improved the robustness of the FAU edit import process to skip or reject corrupted files rather than crashing the application.

  • Preferences

    • Fixed a display issue in the Preferences menu where specific foreground/background color combinations made the color bar numbers unreadable.

License Manager - Activate Softlock

Licensing - Opening older versions of Qimera may deactivate your license

There is a known issue with licensing in older versions of Qimera. An error would appear in the dialog “Failed to Activate License” with the message “There are network adapters on the system that are disabled, please enable them and try again.” when trying to activate the softlock license. In order to fix this issue, we’ve updated the licensing in Qimera 2.8.0 and License Manager 1.10.2.

This update may cause accidental license deactivation if you activate your license in Qimera 2.8.0 and then open an earlier 2.7.x version. The fix is to manually copy the DLLs (found in the link below) into that older version’s installation folder as noted in steps 1 and 2:

Limitation

Filter toolbars to "Accept All Soundings" and "Revert Manual Edits" do not have the intended effect when used in a Cooperative Cleaning project to override cleaning that was done manually in the Master project prior to creating the Cooperative Cleaning project.

Suggested workflow is to use the manual re-accept tools in the Slice Editor and 3D Editor.
