Highlights
1D Filtering – Above/Below option
The 1D filter now supports “Above only” and “Below only” rejection options, allowing more precise control over which soundings are rejected.KMALL Import – Option to use #SKM for position and height
Added support to decode position and height from the KMALL#SKMpackets, improving workflows where geoid separation values were absent from the GGA string. The new systems are named Position from Motion.Grid Statistics - Added Thresholds for Date/Time and Coverage attributes
Added configurable thresholds for datetime and coverage attributes in the Grid Statistics dialog.
Bugs
Processing / Source Files
Resolved an issue where Qimera 2.8.0 could take longer to process the same dataset compared to 2.7.6. This regression is now addressed.
Fixed an issue when creating dynamic grids (including CUBE grids) from large datasets on some high-end PCs.
Fixed an issue where processing could remain stuck at 100% for a long duration when calculating footprints after configuration changes.
When duplicating a dynamic grid, the date/time and coverage attributes are preserved in the new grid.
Tools and Editors
Clarified the naming of exported TOP East and TOP North fields in the Dynamic Cable Pipe export, making it clear that these are the easting and northing coordinates of the TOP detection.
Fixed a crash when viewing the side view - entire line for specific water column files. The crash occurred with the Swath Editor open.
Fixed a crash in the Slice Editor when previewing a frequency filter.
Fixed a crash related to TU Delft Sound Speed Inversion tool where the solution file was corrupted.
The eraser in the Slice Editor now behaves consistently with other editors when using
Ctrlto toggle accept/reject.
Importing / Exporting
Fixed a crash when importing some raw sonar data where footprint offsets overflowed due to bad two way travel times.
Opening a cleaning sub-project created in the same Qimera 2.8.0 version no longer triggers an “Upgrade Project” prompt.
Corrected max depth reporting when importing SVPs so it uses the true maximum depth in the file.
Qimera now properly recognizes multi-profile Caris SVP files exported from Qimera as Caris SVP (not generic ASCII), including multiple headers.
Fixed issues where SVPs containing both negative and positive depth values were only recognized as custom ASCII and had incorrect timestamps; these now import correctly, and duplicate-time errors with “nearest in time” are resolved.
Other
Fixed unnecessary reshading of the dynamic grid on load.
Known Issues
Issue | Summary | Affects Version/s | Expected Fix Version |
|---|---|---|---|
Editors - Accepting and rejecting data outside the view bounds | In the various editors, if there are soundings outside the visible plot, depending on the status flag and the used selection method, those soundings may become accepted or rejected when the status of the soundings in the visible plot are changed. workaround:
| 2.8.1 | 2.8.2 |
License Manager - Activate Softlock | Licensing - Opening older versions of Qimera may deactivate your license There is a known issue with licensing in older versions of Qimera. An error would appear in the dialog “Failed to Activate License” with the message “There are network adapters on the system that are disabled, please enable them and try again.” when trying to activate the softlock license. In order to fix this issue, we’ve updated the licensing in Qimera 2.8.0 and License Manager 1.10.2. This update may cause accidental license deactivation if you activate your license in Qimera 2.8.0 and then open an earlier 2.7.x version. The fix is to manually copy the DLLs (found in the link below) into that older version’s installation folder as noted in steps 1 and 2: | 2.6.X | 2.8.x |
Limitation | Filter toolbars to "Accept All Soundings" and "Revert Manual Edits" do not have the intended effect when used in a Cooperative Cleaning project to override cleaning that was done manually in the Master project prior to creating the Cooperative Cleaning project. Suggested workflow is to use the manual re-accept tools in the Slice Editor and 3D Editor. | 2.1.0 | 2.8.x |
