Qimera 2.7.1 Release

December 16, 2024

We are pleased to present Qimera 2.7.1.

Highlights

  • Qimera Live will now support CSV format for importing. Kongsberg is able to output CSV files for lightweight ship to shore transfers

  • Qimera-command now supports exporting to GSF files

  • Updated HIPS I/O for local Caris 12 license support

Bugs

  • Processing / Source Files

    • Fixed an issue where an empty source file (not pings) caused the project to crash

    • Fixed an issue with the filter preview not resetting the refraction or z-shift filter points until the selection was moved

    • Fixed an issue with tide priorities coming from Qinsy .db files

    • Fixed an issue with CUBE hypothesis being created at zero depth when using the neighborhood algorithm

    • Fixed an Error message that was shown in Qimera command “Could not find or create Software\Qps\LM

    • For custom CRS, in geotiff exports, which can’t be defined by an EPSG #, we’ll output information that is available but will not fall back on WGS84 defaults if they are not. If the tag cannot be filled properly it will now be left empty which results in a ‘not found’ or ‘name unknown’ text string.

    • Fixed an issue with a mid-file corruption in an SBET file. Qimera will now parse and use the good data up to the point of corruption

    • Fixed an issue with the QPD object track not being used with the Include time series data from adjacent lines closer than Processing Setting. This caused a gap in the grid after reprocessing

    • Fixed an issue where the Dynamic Grid color would change back to height after changing the resolution

    • Limited the Compute THU and TVU Scalars to the systems included in the Dynamic Grid

    • Fixed an issue where opening a Qimera 2.7.0 project with an SBET would take a long time to load

    • Fixed an issue where Static Grid creation was not using the latest cleaning edits

    • Fixed an issue with water column not being displayed from a Reson 7150 system

  • Tools and Editors

    • Alt+left click will now move the slice box to the mouse location in the Patch Test tool

    • Fixed an issue where the calibration's plot location was not updated correctly in the patch test report

    • Set Very Weak Spline as the default filter on new installations

    • Fixed an issue with the Water Column setting's Beams and Range slider not applying changes

    • Fixed an issue with rejected soundings being included in the Slice Editor zoom home

    • Fixed an issue when editing Offsets in the Generate/Edit X Point Listings where the lower offset would update before the upper offset was finished typing.

    • Fixed an issue when editing Offsets in the Flag Grid Cells where the lower offset would update before the upper offset was finished typing.

    • Fixed an issue with the slice box rotating after adjusting the slice box size

    • Fixed some point rendering issues in the slice editor when auto-zoom was disabled

    • Fixed the Time Series Multiplot - Relative Nadir Z to use the beam closest to nadir

    • Improved the water column side stack view for Kongsberg dual swath where only the first of 2 pings has water column

  • Importing / Exporting

    • Fixed an issue where imported SVP files had the incorrect time stamp

    • Qimera-command will now support exporting CUBE depth layers to BAG file and Geotiff

    • Fixed an issue with CUBE grids being exported to ASCII containing holes

    • Fixed an issue when exporting a Dynamic Cable/Pipe to QGFLine where the KP values were not forced to the active route

    • Fixed an issue with exported QGFLine not able to be renamed in Survey Manager

    • Sign conventions are not shown when creating a positioning system in the Binary Navigation import

    • Fixed an issue where the SVP Export wasn’t working for certain export formats

    • A warning has been added if the Grid to be exported needs updating

    • Added support to import tide files with date/time in descending order

    • Added support for importing SBET files as depth. This is to support post processing position from ROVs and including tide and geoid model in the resulting heights

    • Added the datum used when exporting the GSF to the GSF Parameters

    • Exporting a Static Grid of sounding density will now export integer values to floating point geotiff
