Hookup Operation - General

General

Roughly there are four stages involved during a hookup operation.

In this section the general actions will be described step by step in a chronological order.

The next section will describe the more specific actions the user has to carry out with QINSy, but will constantly refer back to the steps described in this section.

STAGE 1

CONNECTING TUG

  1. TUG BOAT MANEUVERS INTO POSITION TO CATCH THE BUOY

  2. ANCHOR PENNANT BUOY WILL BE CAUGHT AND RETRIEVED

  3. BUOY WILL BE DISCONNECTED AND TUG WORK WIRE WILL BE CONNECTED TO THE CHAIN TAIL

STAGE 2

CONNECTING RIG

  1. TUG WILL MOVE TOWARDS THE RIG WHILE PAYING OUT THE WORK WIRE

  2. THEN TUG TURNS ASTERN TO RIG TO RECEIVE CHASER STOPPER SYSTEM AND RIG CHAIN



  3. CHASER STOPPER SYSTEM WILL BE CONNECTED TO TUG WORK WIRE



  4. TUG MANEUVERS AWAY FROM RIG, WHILE RECOVERING THE WORK WIRE AND RIG PAYING OUT THE CHAIN

STAGE 3

DEPLOY

  1. AT LOCATION THE RIG CHAIN WILL BE CONNECTED TO THE FIBRE END USING CHASER STOPPER SYSTEM

  2. TUG DEPLOYS CHASER STOPPER SYSTEM OVERBOARD, WHILE PAYING OUT WORK WIRE



  3. TUG WILL MOVE ASTERN BACK TO RIG WHILE RETRIEVING WORK WIRE

STAGE 4

DISCONNECTING TUG

  1. PASS BACK ASSEMBLY TO RIG AND TUG WILL DISCONNECT FROM RIG AND WIRES

  2. HOOKUP OPERATION COMPLETE
