Fledermaus 8.9.1 Release

We're pleased to present Fledermaus version 8.9.1.

Bugs

  • Fixed an issue when exporting the profile to ASCII, where the headers were flipped for longitude and latitude. The headers will now read latitude, longitude, distance, depth.

  • Fixed an issue when importing a TIFF as image where the CRS was not being set.

  • Fixed an issue with setting all vertices to a single height for line objects that did not trigger the line object to be marked as needing to be saved.

  • Fixed an issue with the turntable rotation angles being incorrectly reversed.

  • Fixed an issue profiling on multi-layer grids where only the first layer was being displayed in the profile dock regardless of the other layers visibility for the Fledermaus license.

  • Fixed an issue with the cross profile export to ASCII where the profile docks visibility was not being used correctly.

Notes

Bug

Installer - EPSG database not updated to latest version. This problem occurs if you have Fledermaus 8.7.2, Qimera 2.7.6, Qinsy 9.7.11 or an earlier version installed. You can now check your EPSG database here in the Help > About menu or in the Geodectic Configuration

8.8.0

Low

You will need to manually remove the old EPSG database and copy the new version 12.025 into the Geodetic Resources folder.

Bug

Tools and Docks - Video - Fledermaus slows down and freezes after some time.

Working with videos in the Video Files and Player dock may cause slowdowns or freezes.

This issue results from updating our video display library to fix a security vulnerability in https://qpssoftware.scrollhelp.site/fledermaus/fledermaus-8-7-2-release.

8.8.1, 8.8.2, 8.8.3

 High

This is a situation with the third-party Library. We are investigating options to give the user better results.

Bug

Licensing - Opening older versions of Fledermaus may deactivate your license

8.8.0

Low

The fix is to manually copy the DLLs (found in the link below) into that older version’s installation folder as noted in steps 1 and 2:

Bug

There are situations when mesh creation gets stuck in 3%  of the normal calculation of the meshes when working with the PCL algorithm. Workaround is to use the Quick Neighborhood algorithm when working with QPDs

8.2.0

Low

This is a situation with the third-party Library. We are investigating to prevent the situation of unexpected exit.

Bug

When working with multiple passes of MBES data, the differing passes can result in a suboptimal mesh solution. Workaround is to create the mesh with the best resulting one pass mesh.

8.2.0

Low

This is a situation with the third-party Library. We are investigating options to give the user better results when working with these types of datasets.

Limitation

Fledermaus does not support 2018 AutoCAD dxf/dwg files on the Linux platform but Windows and Mac should be fine. Workaround is to export prior versions of dxf and dwg.

8.3.0

 High

This is dependent on the Third-Party Library, we are working on upgrading this in the medium term.

Limitations

Tiff compressions not available for Mac and Linux - limiting the builds for Mac and Linux on latest versions

8.4.3

 High

We are working on the updates of the Third Party Libraries to be able to get the other OS systems supported in latest release
