Console
Database upgrader
9.8.x and before
When customers open the Console, they need to wait until the Project Upgrader is finished. This checks for many things, including the Database. However, the Console only requires the databases to be updated before the user can proceed.
9.9.0
This change improved the startup speed as the other checks are moved to a background process, which runs independently.
With this change, we also addressed technical debt, which kept resurfacing with each related development, as it was complex and often the root cause for bugs.
Online
Controller - Faster response time
For larger offshore setups, it could take a long time for settings to update (blue Controller).
This was because, after the update, each driver and display had to be informed sequentially. With this change, we now do multiple at the same time.
Tested on a live vessel, it reduced from 5 to 2 seconds.
The controller turning blue was introduced in Qinsy 9.7.7 - Improvements to show to the user that the process was still busy.
Display
Profile - Dredge tolerance from Session setup
It is now possible to show the Under and Over dredge tolerances set in the Session Setup.
The video below shows how to enable them and that they update automatically when changes are made in the Session Setup.
Survey Manager
Bookmark - Use gallery UI
This change makes it easier to switch between bookmarks and is now in line with other similar selections within the Survey Manager.
