Qinsy 9.8.0 Release (Early Access)

We're pleased to present Qinsy version 9.8.0. In this release, we introduced a few new features, along with improvements that were requested. Read below for details.

This release serves as an Early Access, giving access to new features and the opportunity to report issues to QPS for resolution before the official launch.

If you encounter problems or have questions, contact support via Jira. We plan to release version 9.8.1 in early 2026.

This official version will be available for download from the website.

Before you use this version, please read the important notes since this version includes upgrades or changes for:

Major Features & Improvements

  • Geodetic: Improved workflow to add/import geoid models into the QPS workflow.

  • Setup

    • Offset nodes (variable): Added the option to import and export offsets in a simple CSV format.

    • Objects: Added the option to import and export objects, including the systems and offset nodes.

  • Online

    • Static grid: Added options to store data per frequency, other properties like Ping Sound Velocity, Heave, Roll, etc. and overlap Count.

    • Dynamic grid: Added option to store Date/Time and overlap Count.

    • Track Coordinate Distributor: Moved items to one central location to output Waypoints and Line plans on several connections (Serial, UDP, TCP) in various formats (Geojson and ASCII).

  • MQTT Integration: Added the option to output data, using the Generic Layout Editor. It will also be possible to decode certain datatypes as an input for Qinsy. To use this functionality the new MQTT Add-on is required.

  • Survey Manager

    • QGF Import/Export - Geodetic Transformations: Allow users to apply geodetic transformations on import and export of CAD (point, Line, Polyline and Area) data.

    • Grid & Profile Visualization: Added line style attributes for grids.

    • Grid Erase: Improved erase options for static grids, and support for Date/Time and Count attributes in static/dynamic grids.

    • Cable/Pipe support: You can now define if a route is a pipe or a cable and show it in profile view.

    • Plotting: Added a new CAD element so shapes made in CAD, can easily be added to a plot.

  • Security: Updated to .NET 8, removed dependencies on older (2010, 2012, 2013) C++ Redistributables (x86 and x64) and replaced the VBS scripts

  • Performance & Stability: Fixed several memory leaks in the Console and ProjectUpgrader, improved memory handling in the Tide Monitor, and addressed various crashes and visual glitches.
