Qimera Sound Velocity Correction Process

This process will be initiated automatically by the Dynamic Workflow engine whenever the following occurs:

  • SVP files are edited - here
  • SVP selection strategies or processing configuration settings are modified - here
  • Vessel configuration is edited, either manually or through application of patch test or wobble analysis results, including changes to TPU parameters - here
  • Motion sensor, surface sound speed or depth/pressure (AUV only) data is edited - here
  • Motion sensor, surface sound speed or depth/pressure (AUV only) data is re-prioritized - here
  • Blocking parameters are changed - here

When this occurs, the multibeam observations of range and angle are re-integrated with all the supporting ancillary information, including the SVP, to re-compute the sonar relative sounding footprint location.  The position of the CoG is also re-navigated in 3D using the specified vertical referencing method.  If edits to the surface sound speed data are done, the multibeam beam angles are re-computed prior to the ray trace using the new surface sound speed.
