How-to AUV - Automatic Start-up

General

When running an autonomous mission (no umbilical attached) an automatic start-up of the software can be required. The steps below may be followed to enable this.

Automatically starting software

Windows 7

In Windows 7, the Start menu contains a “Startup” folder to make this easy. Just place a shortcut of Qinsy (or other software packages) in this folder.

Windows 8 or higher

When working with Windows 8 or higher, this folder is not present anymore in the Start menu of Windows.

The 'Startup folder' can be reached by following the next steps:

Search for 'Run' in the start menu and execute;
Type: 'shell:startup' and hit 'ok';
Place the shortcut of Qinsy in this folder.

Automatically starting Qinsy

Going online

In Qinsy, it is possible to automatically go 'online' with the selected template.
Follow the following steps to activate this option:

Go to 'Tools' in the Qinsy Console
Select 'Options' in the drop down menu of 'Tools'
Select 'Automatic on-line with selected template database'
Select 'Ok'

Qinsy displays can also be started automatically. This is not described here because most of the time the AUV will do an autonomous mission.
