Network - Shallow Water Range Geodetic (UTC) - 30
Description
The Shallow Water Range Geodetic (SWRG) driver is used to decode the SWRG format as used by the Naval Underwater Warfare Centers (NUWC) in operation by United States Navy (USN). This driver is used to display the location of various objects using Qinsy. Currently the format supports a geodetic position (latitude, longitude and altitude or depth) and a speed over ground (SOG) and course over ground (COG) value for each of the tracked objects. DrvQpsTerminated.exe may be used for RS-232 connections. DrvQpsTerminatedUdp.exe may be used for UDP broadcasts and UDP unicasts.

Decoding Notes
All fields are decoded. No unit conversions are applied by driver.
Position records are only accepted after receiving a valid time record.
System Configuration
There are no specific settings for the range system.
The default settings for the RS-232 connection are:
RS-232 Setting | Value |
---|---|
Baudrate | 9600 |
Data Bits | 8 Bits |
Parity | None |
Stop Bits | 1 Bit |
The default settings for the UDP broadcast are:
UDP Setting | Value |
---|---|
Address | 255.255.255.255 |
Port | 4000 |
The default settings for the UDP unicast are:
UDP Setting | Value |
---|---|
Address | user defined |
Port | User defined |
Interfacing Notes
A one way RS-232 cable is sufficient as the driver does NOT send any data to the range system.
Database Setup
The following table shows the slot assignments:
System/Observation | Slot value | |
---|---|---|
Position Navigation System (Latitude, Longitude and Altitude or Depth) | Enter object id in 'Receiver Number' field i.e. '52' | |
Speed Log System COG observation | Enter 'COG' + object id in observation slot field i.e. 'COG52' | |
Speed Log System Speed observation | Enter 'SOG' + object id in observation slot field i.e. 'SOG52' |
