Qinsy 9.5.1 - Known Issues

The QPS team is continuously improving Qinsy to implement new functionality and documentation. Unfortunately, there are a number of known issues in our software release Qinsy 9.5.1.
These software issues will be solved in future maintenance releases. Please subscribe to our Newsletter and follow future maintenance releases to ensure optimal use of Qinsy 9.

For this release the following issues are known

Online - Session Setup - Storage - Sounding grid - Newly created grid not found

Problem
When you switch projects (could be because you create a new one) and create a new sounding grid you get the following message:

This is because it is saving the grid in the file location in which you previously stored you grid.

Workaround
If you take the follow steps when creating a new grid, it should work:

  1. Select the three dots behind the file name.
    1. Enter a file name
    2. Save the file
  2. Click OK to confirm

Planned fix
This issue is planned to be fixed in Qinsy 9.5.2.

Console - Does not start due to special characters in project path

Problem
The Qinsy Console will no longer open in Qinsy 9.5.0 and 9.5.1 due to a special character in the project file path.

It could be that the project name contains special character, but it can also be the folder name in which the Qinsy project is placed.
It could also be because your Windows user name has a special character in it.

For example characters like Ü or ç.

Workaround
This takes some steps:

  1. Change the folder name, project name or Windows User name so it no longer contains special characters;
    Or log in with another user name.
  2. Install Qinsy 9.4.6 in case you do not have it;
  3. Open the project in Qinsy 9.4.6;
  4. Close Qinsy 9.4.6 and now you should be able to open the project in Qinsy 9.5.1.

Planned fix
This issue is planned to be fixed in Qinsy 9.5.2.

Displays - Navigation - CAD

Converting a design file into a background file will not show lines when the start and end point of a line are outside the view. (Viewing Panel)

Recommendation:
Do not convert design files into background files. If lines from a design are needed in the Navigation Display, then create a dedicated background file.

Displays - Navigation - CAD Survey Manager

The QPS team encountered a memory problem with CAD files which contain many complex blocks.

Recommendation:
Do not use CAD files which contain many complex blocks. This bug will be solved in a future maintenance release.

Displays - Navigation - ENC Survey Manager

Both the Survey Manager and Navigation Display are not Per monitor DPI aware.
With two monitors, each with different display scales, the scale on the secondary monitor will not be correct.
This also affects the way the ENCs are drawn.

Recommendation:
Please vote on: FQI-605 - Survey Manager - Plan View - Make per monitor DPI aware

Survey Manager - Plan View - ENC

ENCs produced by Rijkswaterstaat for the Dutch province of Zeeland and ENCs produced by the Netherlands Hydrographic office cannot be displayed simultaneously due to the different usage levels and compilation scales of both producers.

Survey Manager - Sounding Grid - Import Geoid Model

Since Qinsy 9.5.0 it is possible again to import most Geoid models into a sounding grid.
The only Geoid models that cannot be imported yet, are the ones that cross the dateline (+180° East/West).

Please let us know if you do need to import such a model.
