Tide Gauges

Tide Gauges are not available for Export

Parent Item

Tide Gauge:

Listed are all available tide gauge sources as defined in your template setup. These sources are used by predefined or user-defined tide strategies as single station or as a combinations of stations.

A tide gauge can be from a selected tide file containing predicted tide values or from a real-time observation connected to a tide gauge sensor.

The listed names are preceded by 'File -' when the source is a predicted tide file and in case of a real-time observation it will be preceded by the system name as defined in your template setup.

User-defined free text

Text Format
  • Normal Text
    Your own free plain text
  • Binary
Enter one or more ASCII character codes, comma or space separated, in the range between 1 and 127.
For example '2' for a binary STX character, '3' for a binary ETX character, or '13, 10' for CR+LF.
See table ASCII Codes for an overview of all possible characters.

  • New Line
Same as Binary but already formatted as '13, 10' (meaning CR+LF) and without a possible Field Delimiter.
A Field Delimiter may be present when your layout purpose is for Export or ASCII Logging.

Time

Update time (UTC) of the tide source

time
AgeThe difference [in seconds] between the triggering time and the time of the tide source updatedouble
Value

The tide value that will be used when the selected tide gauge is part of a tide strategy.

The value is referenced to chart datum. I.e. that this value may differ from the raw observation or from the prediction when the selected vertical datum of the connected fixed node (as defined in the template setup) is different.

Reference Property
  • Unfiltered
The value before a possible clipping / filter setting (as defined in the Controller Tide Strategy setup) is taken into account.
  • Filtered
The resulting value when the clipping / filter setting (as defined in the Controller Tide Strategy setup) is taken into account.
double
SdA-priori standard deviation of the tide valuedouble
Quality

When the tide source is a real-time observation, it will be the decoded quality value of that observation.

Value will be zero when no quality is found or decoded or in case of a predicted tide file.

double
Status

This integer value actually represents a bit-wise flag where each bit indicates a different status, so combinations of different statuses are possible.

BitStatusMask (decimal)
0Unfiltered value valid1
1Filtered value valid2
2Value invalid d/t above max value4
3Value invalid d/t below min value8
4Value invalid d/t above max rate of change16
5Value invalid d/t quality indicator < 032
6Filtered value invalid d/t filter initialization failure64
7Unfiltered value invalid d/t stale age of observation128
int
Filename

The value will be the selected file when the source is a predicted tide file.

This item will remain empty when the tide source is a real-time observation.

Show Full Path
  • Yes
The filename preceded by the entire path name of the file location
  • No (default)
The filename without path name of the file location
