Storage - Database

On this page the storage parameters for raw data are displayed.
Raw data will always be stored during recording, it is not possible to switch this off.

Storage File
Predefined Naming

Use the drop down menu to select a naming style for the databases:

  • PREFIX NR - LINE NAME
The storage file name will contain the prefix number (aka sequence number) and the current mainline name, separated by ' - '.
    Same as user defined: #Q - #L
  • PREFIX NR - [ User Defined ]
The storage file name will contain the prefix number (aka sequence number) and the user defined text, separated by ' - '.
Same as user defined: #Q - [User Defined]
  • DATE_TIME - LINE NAME
The storage file name will contain the date and time and the current mainline name, separated by ' - '.
    Same as user defined: %y%m%d_%H%M%S - #L
  • DATE_TIME - [ User Defined ]
The storage file name will contain the date and time and the user defined text, separated by ' - '.
Same as user defined: %y%m%d_%H%M%S - [User Defined]
  • COUNTER - [ User Defined ]
The storage file name will contain a unique counter number (formatted as a four digit number) and the user defined text, separated by ' - '.
Note: No suffix will be added to your storage file name. Instead the counter will increment at every split and record event.
  • [ User Defined ]
The entire storage file name consists of user defined text.
Prefix number

A prefix number will be added to the storage name.
Every time that a recording is stopped, the prefix number will increase by one.

Counter

The counter number will be added to the storage name.
Every time that a recording is stopped or when your database is being split, the counter number will increase by one.
When using the counter then no suffix will be added to the storage file.

User Defined

Enter your own free text. You may also combine your text with one or more format specifier codes.
For a list of supported format specifier codes, press F1 to open Qinsy help.

Storage File

This row shows what the storage file name will look like with the current settings.

Project Information
Job Number

If required, enter the job number here. You may use the browse button to select a previously used number.

Storage Options

Storage Options will only be visible when your template database setup contains a system driver that decodes water column, raw multibeam, raw snippet and/or raw sidescan data.
When enabled, the specific raw data will be stored in the same storage file (*.db).

Note: for some systems you can enable the storage here using the checkbox, for some other systems you may have to change it in your template setup (Database Setup).
Whether the water column data storage is enabled or not is also present in the Controller view area, as an extra reminder.
